May the love of our great God,
Who is never “semi” regular, or Who never
leaves us hanging for long periods of time
without communicating, so overwhelm you that
no room is left for irritation at yours
truly who has been a slug for eight months.
Any and all excuses for my delinquency can
be added to the paving material for the road
to hell. You will just have to get over it
and forgive me.
Our big news is about Sarah and
Eric Shrum. In November the date of December
5th was announced. Last Saturday,
December 5th to the glory of God
they were married in Mariners Chapel, where
they met several years ago at a Bible Study.
It was a literal slice of heaven
to walk this champion of God down the aisle.
I questioned Eric and Sarah about their
commitment to love and honor one another as
an example of Jesus and the Church, and then
together with Betty give her into this union
with our blessings. The ceremony was
conducted by Sheneau Stanley and me.
Pronouncing them husband and wife marked the
end of 53 years of living with our children,
and a new era of adventure for Frank and
Betty. I plan to share next time an expanded
version of my message from Song of Songs,
“There is no flaw in you.” 4:7
You who have prayed Sarah
through her physical battles over the years
will be happy to know the doctors think she
can have children, but the delivery(ies)
will have to be by Caesarean section. They
would like children very much and being in
their late thirties, the sooner the better.
There were some glitches in
putting everything together in just a few
weeks, and if you are one of the many
friends, family and loved ones who did not
get an invitation and should have, again,
please be gracious and forgive us.
The ministry continues as it
has, but with fewer travels. These past
eight months of silence had just one trip to
the mid-west, and two trips down into Baja,
Mexico (San Quintin, four hours south of
Tijuana, Guerrero, Zapata, and Tijuana). I
am still doing the weekly meetings in Vista
on Tuesday mornings, Oceanside Tuesday
afternoons, and the church meeting in Vista
on Saturday mornings. There is also the
semi-regular house church meetings in Moreno
Valley, and some exciting meetings in
Morongo Valley helping lay foundations for
the church of the city.
Betty and I will be moving soon
from the apartment in Dana Point. If anyone
has a suggestion or revelation, please
contact us right away.
I have had some health issues
recently – prostate and arthritis – but I
plan to keep on keeping on with the usual
confession, “My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my
portion forever.” Psalm 73:20. Besides,
these ailments all fit into the category of
“light and momentary afflictions.” 2 Cor.
4:17.
Also, the Child born to us and
the Son given to us has a government that
will very soon fill the whole earth. The
excitement as this unfolds before our eyes
makes retirement unthinkable. Besides, I’m
only seventy six years old. Much of the
world prepares to mark the birth of our King
with frenzied hoopla, and others like to
pretend the birth of Jesus is irrelevant and
even the words “Merry Christmas” should be
avoided. What utter foolishness.
Even
though we celebrate His birth at the wrong
time, the wonderful message brings a ringing
affirmation of the Kingdom of God. The zeal
of the Lord of Hosts has caused the increase
of His government for two thousand years.
This Kingdom is about to displace the
besieged governments of man. It appears that
we get to witness this establishing of the
true new world order under King Jesus. “Joy
to the world, the Lord has come! Let earth
receive her King.”
Love in
Christ,
Frank
