Dear friends and loved ones,
May the peace and glory of God, rest upon you and flow forth from you like
fresh water from a mountain spring. May the tumult of a dying way of life be
hushed by the awesome reality of Christ in you, the hope of glory. May all
those whose lives you touch be blessed by Him Whose hands and feet you are.
Our daughter Sarah underwent very successful surgery to remove the catheter
from her spinal column. This catheter had been part of a morphine pump
system. When it was inserted, Sarah was much heavier because her kidneys
could not handle all the oral morphine she was taking. When the morphine no
longer had to go through her kidneys, she lost weight and her body could not
hold the pump. It was removed a few years ago, but the catheter was left in
place. Sarah had been suffering severe spinal headaches. She is up and
roaring with life. Thank you for your prayers.
I am presently in California until after Thanksgiving, and then plan
to return again to Omaha for only a few weeks. I was there for only two
weeks after our marathon trip, and have been here since October 19th. I am
spending more time with Betty, and less time in Omaha. Hopefully this trend
will continue, and Betty will be able to retire from her hospice work and
join me in some of the ministry. Please pray with us about this, and the
assurance of provision, and also the alleviation of the anxiety and panic
that Betty has been experiencing.
At a meeting of a few house churches and networks in Idaho Falls,
brother Dick Staats said, "Time is a temporary interruption in eternity for
the purpose of dealing with the sin issue." My awed response was, "Huh? What
did you say?" He repeated it and others also asked what he said. This
thought germinated, was ruminated, and consumed my thinking off and on for
several weeks. I finally prepared a rough draft entitled, "TIME, a huge
flushing device."
It is too long for a newsletter and too short as yet for a book. I
sent it to several friends for comment and editing. Here are a few
responses: "Interesting. Aside from the visual image I get of a toilet I
guess you could say this is pretty accurate theology…. So how many joints
did you smoke before you started typing? LOL!"; "Are you trying to get into
quantum mechanics and the nature of the time/space continuum or are you
making a God point? Both ??"; and there was even, "I LOVED IT... Don't
change a word. I, myself, really needed what you had to say."
Anyway, there is a lot of work to do on it. If you are interested,
look on the web site sometime soon, or send me an Email.
Please be encouraged in the work of the ministry you have been called
to. Yes, even you. We have all been called and equipped by the indwelling
Spirit of Jesus and our Father. We all have assignments, and we all have
opportunities. Carpe deim - seize the day. Or, as Paul put it, "Making the
most of every opportunity, because the days are evil." Eph. 5:16
Love in Christ,
Frank & Betty
